Linux and the GNU system

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system everyday without realizing it. Though a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is used today is often called 'Linux', and many of its users are not aware that is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU project. Nope, I never knew that. All I know is Linux, the open-source operating system. I've tried RedHat before, the one that came with a GUI. It's alright, but after a while, I missed my Windows laptop, so the excitement was only short-lived.
